Teaching American History Website
Client: Olde English Consortium
Year: 2007

Mission Objective: To design a site that would bring more visual fun and excitement to local history. The site was to contain a plenty of
historic images, documents and PowerPoint presentations about historic South Carolina. The information was to be made easily accessible and
easy to find for students and teachers alike.
The Finale: This sites design brings history to life by it's fun and cool looking approach. The header features images that look as if they are
hanging off of the page. The images used in the headers were actual photos of people during various era of South Carolina history. These photos
were retouched slightly to feel as if they belong to the site. The textures were used to add depth and give a more timely look. The navigation and
flyout menus were designed in CSS, making it easy to add pages if needed. Since this was an informative site for students all over SouthCarolina,
we had to come up with a link system that would allow easy access to the supplied documents. The entire site was constructed using PHP and CSS.
The Teaching American History grant was awarded to the Olde English Consortium, with the purpose of increasing teacher and student content
knowledge of American history.
